Was invited by my Thai classmate, Nook, to a Thai temple in London where the Thais were celebrating Songkran (i think it's like their new year). Other than Nook there were many other Thai friends that i had met (Nook's friend, friend's brother and friend's friends). We had picnic within the vicinity of the temple where her friend bought lotsa food and we gathered around in a picnic fashion to try all the food. The food were expensive and not any near to the taste of any yummy thai food. Hence, there were lots of leftovers. It was also an expensive trip down to the Temple due to some information not gathered properly and hence the high transport charges that Nook and I had to pay. 

11 Apr 2011 - Just to back track a little more, I finally had my McDonald's meal in London!!! Thanks to cousin, Lucille, who posted on FB her 1/2 empty french fries on 11 Apr and since then i am craving for Mc. Hence, after lesson, Pat & I went walking around central where i purchased relatively cheap scarves that cost 2 for £5 and loreal shampoo/conditioner at 2 for £3.

What a coincidence that me and Pat both craved for McDonald's and hence we headed to Mc and i ate my very 1st Mc in London. I had Qtr pounder which is kinda dry and the fries are not fried enough and little salt (healthy kind). Still Aussie Mc is the best!

They have monopoly as well!!!! and Pat was so daring to ask others for their coupons as she had not played this before and finds it interesting. haha..

12 Apr 2011 - as in the title..

I had an appointment with Pat for Grocery shopping. 1st we went to Asda - Wembly not knowing that it is located in zone 4! hence we paid quite a lot for our transport. Then we shopped around and bought some stuff which we can share as usually they have promos like 2 for £__ or we can share a big bag of carrots / tomatoes. Hence saving $ at the same time not worrying that the purchases will be wasted due to expiry.

There after we went back to Pat's house by bus to put all the groceries we got at Asda and then we headed to Ikea for hotdog that cost 90p (i know SG selling $1 nia but then i am happy to pay 90p for this yummilcious hotdog) only to know that it contains mixed of pork and beef which Pat is unable to eat. :( Nevertheless, the hotdog was delicious (geez i m so hungry now). I shall go back to Ikea like 2 weeks later to stock up my grocery with meatballs and the jam!!! :) 

After munching, we went to the huge Tesco Extra which is like Giant / Carrefour. It is really super nice to shop. i felt as though i am back in USA shopping at Walmart. :) And i was so tempted to buy this (pointing down) Isn't it cheap only SGD3plus nia for 1 big bottle!!

I bought lots of stuff which i intended not to buy any this week. However, after spending so much on transport, how can i not buy anything home! We bought some stuff then head back to Pat's home for dinner. We bought Pizza as well as chicken fingers which we isn't filling at all and we had 2 pieces of my potato croquettes that i had bought for only 66p and they taste so yummy!!! After dinner we watched TV programmes and chat and then it was past 8pm where the street became pitch dark. Hence, Pat asked me to stay over for the night. I did. :)

 Since I am sleeping over, Pat suggested we shall drink tonight and we had Guinness, courtesy of Andree :)

The next morning - this is where i slept. Like sis always say to everyone "Pam can sleep anywhere" haha I was too pai sei to sleep with Pat on her king size bed which she usually sleeps with her husband-to-be. Not very nice ya... i am very polite de *ahem

Then it was 10am. Time flies! I headed home and washed my laundry, clean up and pack my room and here i am blogging away. I shall sign off now. I am very hungry now and i need to study, do research for my practical tomorrow as well as tidying my notes.
