I woke up and decided i should stop giving myself too much pressure in school. i should be back to my old self and start baking happily since i have time now (not that i bake very often in the past, in fact i rarely do. hence, the inexperience). since we are going to make white bread in school this week, i surfed the net and decided to do this. i changed the main character to chocolate instead of matcha and being a smart alec for not buying cocoa powder -.- my experiment failed. my product turns out to look like this...
it was a messy affair when i was trying to keep the dough and chocolate in place. well, my experiment didnt go to waste as i know where went wrong and i am sure i will get it the next time round. :) the foldings are similar to method used in puff pastry to create the pretty layers of swirls. cant wait to make it the next time round.
being a bread lover, the bread making exciteness didnt wear off at all. i began to search for more information about bread making. there are sooooooo many different types of method and so many variation of bread. it is just wonderful. i wanna bake them all!
the next day i was contemplating on making Danish loaf, Japanese styled bacon and cheese (replacing the filling to butter and cheese) or Hokkaido Milk Toast. Looking at what ingredients i have and the time that i have, i decided to go for Japanese styled butter and cheese bread.
which turns out all right. not too fantastic though. it is definitely a bread. :) i have made bread with my own hands :) no machine..keke.. however, i do not know why the texture of my bread does not resemble that of the foodblog . hmmm..hers looks more compact, like Gardenia / Sunshine bread while mine looks like the market bakery bread (but it's soft and fluffy~)
had lesson at 3pm today about Diary products. Chef Nicolas presented us with a surprise today where he prepared yummy scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam like sauce. nom nom! also, he make some students shake a bottle of double / whipping cream profusely which there after the cream splitted and form BUTTER! haha it was a fun lesson as usual what do you expect from Chef Nicolas lesson :)
tomorrow is our mid term assessment!!! :( it's like meet the parent session hmm or you can say it's appraisal time. i am definitely gonna get the worst remark. oh well, i am prepared to hear the worst. do not be shocked that i might actually be so upset with myself that i cry.
good night.
