18 & 19 Apr 2011 - Ikea, Tesco, National Portrait Gallery

Nook, my classmate from Thailand, and i decided that this week, we are gonna travel a lot to visit places and stock up our fridge.

18 Apr 2011
on a non-school day, me and nook decided to go to IKEA for hotdog! yum yum..it just reminds me of J Loh, Fliss Fairy, Cindyrella and the Bride-to-be. :)

At Ikea we got compartments for our locker in school then we went tesco to do some grocery shopping. the tesco is like walmart in USA. nice! i love shopping at supermart! haha..guess it's gonna be part of my hobby from now on.

19 Apr 2011
after technical class on the exam procedures and result of the 3 exam pieces that we will draw lots to determine which of the 3 we will be baking for the exam is out, we were all very stress and scared. well all we can do is work hard. well pushing that aside, nook and i head for lunch after school where we went to Cafe de HK recommended by Hee Yon, our fellow South Korean classmate. gosh my very 1st chinese dish outside home. it was satisfying. haha..nook had her fave char siew and roasted duck rice while i had beef hor fun. geez talking about it makes me really hungry now.

after this we went to national portrait gallery which was amazing. i love it. though the premises ain't as big as british museum, we couldnt finish the entire portraits in the building. however, we were almost there as we managed to finish 2 out of 3 levels of portraits :) there were lots of them and many information to read about each framed artwork. the artworks were amazing and the history is thick. we were tired by then and we decided to end the day by going to Chinatown which is nearby so Nook can buy her staple food, rice grains. After leaving the Gallery for about 15 mins and reaching the the Chinatown shop, i realised that my mobile wasnt with me. i panicked and asked Nook to call me. to my horror, no ringtone to be heard! then i recalled and realised that i left it in the washroom before we left the Gallery. so we hurried back to the Gallery and thank goodness, an angel had give it to the reception. I was so glad i managed to claim it through the counter and that it wasn't gone. lucky me. :) sorry i couldnt get any photos of the Gallery as no photography is allowed and i didnt want to try taking shots of the artworks in respect to the artists :)

heading to Chinatown, we passed by Cafe de HK again. so we head in and i had black sesame paste which from the look of it you can tell how 'good' it taste. it wasnt inedible just that it was super 'gao' hence not up to my expectation.. :( i guess i have to make my own black sesame paste.

Nook had this fried dumpling which was not too bad. there were prawns in it. yummy :)

ok finally to the Chinatown shop where Nook bought her bag of rice and guess what i found....

wahahah 星加坡...never knew Singapore had such product. lol..
